“Life opens up in so many different ways when your energy has awakened.” — Panache Desai

Reiki

Reiki (rey-key), meaning “spiritually guided life force energy”, is a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation.

Reiki HealingOur body is composed not only of physical elements such as muscles, bones, nerves, etc., but also of a subtle energy system through which “life force energy” (Chi) flows.  This subtle system is composed of energy bodies that surround our physical form assisting us in processing our thoughts and emotions. The energy bodies have energetic centers called chakras, that, like little valves, allow life force to circulate throughout our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual bodies.  We also have energy meridians that are like little streams carrying our life force energy throughout our physical body, assisting in balancing our body systems and functions.

Reiki gently and effectively opens blocked meridians and chakras, clearing the energy bodies, leaving one feeling relaxed and at peace thereby promoting health and healing. It is often offered to patients in hospitals as pre and post-operative care to ease anxiety, relieve stress and support the healing process.  Reiki is frequently offered by private practitioners at spas, chiropractors’ offices, and yoga studios.

Reiki Treatment

A typical Reiki treatment is approximately 40 minutes long. The client; adult, elderly, infant or child, remains fully clothed, relaxed and reclining (if possible) in a bed or chair. The practitioner, with permission, gently lays hands on the client’s head, neck, chest, back, abdomen, legs, and feet. The process feels like the flow of warm gentle sunshine surrounding and comforting every part of the body.
